Meet the Coaches
Cassie Rice – Owner
Cassandra is one of the foremost coaches in the USA. She coached Olympic Medalist, Tasha Schwikert since the beginning of her career. Since that time, Cassie has been named 2000 USOC Developmental Coach of the Year, 2000 USA Coach of the Year, 2001 International Elite Coach of the Year, 2001 USAG Coach of the Year, and Regional Coach of the Year six consecutive years from 2008-2013. She encourages all coaches to continue to listen to the athletes, learn from one another, and keep a positive mindset every day.
Jill Preston – J.O Team Director
Jill has coached at Gymcats since 1998 and is our girls’ team manager. She is an elite level coach, has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, is safety certified and is a level 10 rated judge. Jill is a TOPs State Manager, Region 1 Xcel Committee Chair, and is also on the state board for Nevada USA Women’s Gymnastics.
Ali Sturgis– Office Director
Ali has been with Gymcats since 2002. She knows Gymcats policies exceptionally well. She is happy to assist and guide parents with any questions they may have at the front desk.
Pej Ebrahimi – Boys Program Director
Pej is the Head Coach of the boys’ program at Gymcats. He competed on the Ohio State Men’s Gymnastics Team and contributed to winning the Big Ten Championships from 2005-2007. He received the title of NCAA Champion and All American in 2007. Pej’s coaching philosophy is to help his athletes reach their full potential through positive motivation and encouragement.
Jon Harms – Boys Team Director
Jon started gymnastics at the age of 5 and competed in the 1993 JO Nationals. He has coached at Gymcats for 8 years and is committed to helping his athletes reach their goals and enjoy gymnastics.
Stacey Palmer – Preschool Director
“Miss Stacey” has coached at Gymcats since 1996. She has taught thousands of kids over the years and personally teaches over 250 kids each week. She is KAT certified and safety certified. She also specializes in private gymnastics lessons with children with special needs. For more information, ask our front desk about our special needs program.
Mika Houston – Level 2 Director
Mika began competing in gymnastics at Gymcats in 1992. She has over 20 years of
coaching experience, as well as a daughter in the team program.
Misse Brown – J.O. Compulsory Head
Misse has coached at Gymcats since 1994. She is the head coach of our compulsory team. Misse is a former acrobat with Siegfried & Roy as well as a former high level gymnast. She is safety certified.
