Directions

Gymcats is located 1 block East of Gibson between Warm Springs and Sunset (across from the fire-fighter's training station).
From I-15:

Take I-15 to the 215 connector. Take it to Gibson Road, go North (left) on Gibson to Warm Springs and make a right on Warm Springs. Go to Parkson and turn left. Gymcats is on the right hand side of the road.

From I-95 and Sunset:

Take Sunset East 2 blocks and turn right on Parkson. Gymcats is on the left hand side of the road.

Paula Chance
Paula was Gymcats director of Dance for several years and currently teaches several classes per week. She specializes in teaching younger kids. She is a dance professional with over 25 years experience in performance and dance training in numerous disciplines. She forms a great relationship with all her students and has an extensive background in childhood education.

 

Brandon Atkins- is a former cheerleader and tumbler and is an assistant coach to our Cheercats team. He also teaches boys classes and tumbling classes.

 

Tehani Douglas - graduated from Southern Utah University in 2008, where she competed for four years on a full-ride gymnastics scholarship.  Her love for athletics led her to graduate summa cum laude in athletic training.  She is also certified in CPR and first aid.  Before college, she competed for Olympus School of Gymnastics in Utah under Mary Wright.  She was a Junior International Elite Qualifier and competed at the 2000 U.S. Classic.  She was also a member of the 2000 Junior Olympic National Team.  She is extremely knowledgeable and experienced in dance, choreography, and performance.  Tehani has a deep passion for the sport of gymnastics.  She appreciates the values and lessons she has learned as an athlete and enjoys passing on those same life values to the next generation of gymnasts.

Cari Perkins- is a pre-school coach at Gymcats. She has over 7 years experience at Gymcats. Her students always love her.

 

 

Catharina Sharp- She is a high energy person that loves kids.  With two school age children of her own, she has a certain knack for connecting with the kids.She is USAG certified in Safety and First Aid, as well as Preschool Gymnastics. She comes to Henderson with coaching experience from Flagstaff, AZ.She has worked at Gymcats Gymnastics for almost a year and is loving the opportunity to get to know the kids both in their classes and at the workshops.

Deborah Hess-Boland has studied dance since the age of 3. She teaches Ballet, all Team Ballet, all Diamond Ballet and all Jets Ballet classes. She has been with Gymcats for 4 years. She graduated from West Texas A & M in 2002 with a BFA in Dance. While in college she was in the International Folk Dance Company, Lone Star Ballet Company, West Texas A & M Dance Ensemble.
She performed in 4 seasons of the Nutcracker 98-2001. She also perform in 3 seasons of the summer musical “Texas the Musical Drama” 98-2000. She also performed throughout Texas and Oklahoma with the WT Dance Ensemble. She has also had the opportunity to go to conventions and workshop including Technique in Taos with Jillana, a former New York City Ballet Dancer and also Tremaine.

 

Jamie Jennings - is a pre-school coach at Gymcats who teaches kittens through supercubs. She is a very popular teacher.

 

Kristen Kachinsky - is a pre-school through gold level coach. She teaches at the Henderson Rec centers as well. She often teaches flip flop shops and is very good at teaching the basics to her kids in order for them to move up quickly to the next level.

Melanie Peterson - is a dance major at UNLV and teaches Dance and gymnastics. She is also a head coach of our select team members and coaches all levels of girls gymnastics.

Morgan Kidd - is a beginner through team coach. She is an x-team head coach and has a great rapport with her students. She is a committed coach who is always eager to improve coaching techniques.

Oxana Postavets- is one of our experience jets teachers. She teaches various jets classes through level 6 team. She is a former member of the Moscow circus and is a master of sports of the international class in gymnastics.dots

Stephan Bushard - a former high level gymnast and outstanding teacher to boys of all levels through team. He has extensive knowledge in tumbling and is extremely good with kids of all ages.span class="text">dots

Susy Pratus -has over 25 years of teaching experience and is a welcome new addition to Gymcats staff. Her specialties are her high energy and great rapor with pre-school students. dots

Yasamin  Damavandi -A respected teacher and choreographer, Yasamin is one of our talented Jazz and Hip hop Instructors here at Gymcats.  She has studied dance since she was 3, here locally and was competing by the age of 11 and teaching at age 16.  Yasamin has extensive training in Jazz, Ballet, Tap, modern, hip hop and pointe with strong influences from Kathy Humphries, Michael Mckenzie Pratt, Dan Gardner, and Las Vegas Connections’ Vikki Anthony.  She graduated from the Fine Arts College at UNLV in December 2008 with a major in art and minor in dance. Miss Yasi also attends yearly Tremaine Dance conventions to keep up with the ever-changing worlds of dance styles
Miss Yasi is also certified as an Ashtanga Yoga instructor, and she begins her 3rd year teaching at Gymcats. Most recently, she has acquired
a new passion for aerial arts such as silks, lyra, and bungi.  She has a great love for children and enjoys making a difference in their lives.
