Cassandra Rice
Cassandra is one of the foremost coaches in the USA today. In 2000 she coached Tasha Schwikert to a spot on the Sydney Olympic Team. Since that time she has been named 2000 USOC Developmental Coach of the Year, 2000 USA Coach of the Year, 2001 International Elite Coach of the Year, 2001 USAG Coach of the Year,, 2008-09 Regional coach of the year and 2009-10 Regional coach of the year. Cassie is also the Owner of GYMCATS.
Jill Preston
Jill has been with Gymcats for over 9 years and is our girls team manager. She has coached team members to a number of national titles. She is an elite level coach, is CPR and safety certified and is an optional level judge. Jill is also the state chair for USA Women's Gymnastics, as well as the Nevada TOPs State Manager.
Kathy Holtz
Kathy
is the director of the Gymcats Dance Program. Kathy comes from New York and has a 22 year long history of dance. She has experience in ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, lyrical, and modern. Kathy began dancing at a competitive level at age 12 and has years of experience in performing in recitals, musicals, and various shows in her home town. Kathy has donated her time teaching dance at her local dance studio, as well as choreographing shows for local home town elementary schools and senior citizen homes.
Joe Catrambone
Joe was a top level Junior Olympic level gymnast in the country who received a full scholarship to the University of Michigan. He graduated in 2009 and holds a degree in Psychology. Joe was the 2009 Big Ten High Bar Champion and was a part of the winning 2009 Big Ten Championship Team. In 2009, Joe finished 5th at NCAAs to become an All American on High Bar. He has been to USA Championships several times and became the 2005 USA Junior National Champion on High Bar. He is the boys program director and in charge of the rec program and team program. He plans to use his knowledge and experience to grow and build a successful boys program. He is safety certified.
Jonathan Harms
Jon has been doing gymnastics since the age of 5 and competed in the 1993 JO Nationals in Ann Arbor, MI. After an unfortunate back injury Jon was forced to take 2 years off, which led to his new career in show business. He began performing a duo aerial adiago act, known as Aerial Expressions, and has been performing around the world and Las Vegas ever since. He has been in many different shows including: Imagine at the Luxor, Storm at Mandalay Bay, Notre Dame de Paris at Paris, Air Play at the Tropicana, and V the Ultimate Variety Show at Planet Hollywood. Jon is excited to take his gymnastics training and show business experience to help other children become excited gymnastics as well!
Stacey Palmer
"Miss Stacey" our pre-school director has over 13 years experience with Gymcats. She has taught thousands of kids over the years and personally teaches over 250 kids each week. She is KAT certified and safety certified. She specializes in teaching children with special needs and has several autistic and handicapped children she teaches one on one each week. Ask our front desk about our special needs program. All her students know there is no match to Gymcats' Miss Stacey.
Heidi Whimple
Heidi
is our head cheercats team coach and program director for cheerleading at Gymcats. She has been part of cheerleading for many years, and she loves it!
She was a former acrobat, gymnast, dancer and cheerleader. She ran her own cheer team and program in Nevada for several years. She has a passion for teaching and strives to achieve the athletic goals of each student. She is so excited to be here at Gymcats as an instructor.
Danielle Baker
Danielle was a former level 10 gymnast at Gymcats and has 8 years coaching experience. She graduated with a degree in psychology from UNLV and shortly after traveled to New Zealand to hold gymnastics clinics through GymSports NZ. She is a recreational and team coach, CPR and Safety certified, and is a Level 5/6 judge. Danielle is the director of the Level 3/Jets/Select programs here at Gymcats and is passionate about leaving a positive impact on all of the gymnasts she coaches.
Melissa Brown
Misse is a former acrobat with Siegfried & Roy, a former high level gymnast and a coach for over 20 years. She enjoys teaching children and heads our compulsory team, as well as coaches Levels 7 and 8. She is safety certified and an expert in technique and motivation.
Kim Snape
Kim is our TOPS team, Edge, and G-force director. She is also the Level 7-10 Co-head coach. She is a former trampoline and tumbling champion from Canada and has expert knowledge in aerial awareness and is also a choreographer. She has a special bond with kids of all levels and is safety certified.
Wendy Testa
Wendy was a former Level 10 Nevada State Champion and National Qualifier. She has been coaching for 20 years in all areas of gymnastics including mommy and me, boys, girls recreation, cheerleading, girls developmental and girls team 4-10. She is currently an optional judge and working with our team. She choreographs floor routines and loves coaching gymnastics. One of her favorite things is drills! Wendy is currently a first grade teacher and holds a degree in Health Science along with two Masters: one in Educational Instruction and one in Educational Leadership. She is aspiring one day to be a principal.
Jill Kuch
Jill teaches all levels of gymnasts from babies to team. She is our Rec center director and has a great background of knowledge and is known for getting kids to achieve their best. She is safety and CPR certified. She has taught kids for over 8 years at Gymcats and has helped them grown and develop into better gymnasts.
Tammam Cheetany (Mr. C)
Mr. C runs his classes with a focus on discipline, hard work and improving skills each week in class. He has a high degree of knowledge of the shorin -ryu form of Martial arts and his dedication to his students is unsurpassed. He is also safety certified and CPR certified.
